JARVIS MANN: DEAD MAN CODE BY R. WEIR
Still
recovering from the murder of his brother and loss of his lady love, Melissa,
Jarvis Mann delves into the high tech world to solve a murder. Threats to his
life are nothing new to our erstwhile P.I.; even when the threats come from
Russian mob types or heavy hitters with ties to the Chinese government. But
Jarvis’ cases are never straight forward or easy. He finds himself dealing with
a client who isn’t telling him everything, local police and FBI who hate him, a
lady cop friend who’d like to be more, a suspect’s ex who wants to get in his
pants, and someone who wants him dead.
As others
connected to the case begin to wind up dead, Jarvis will do whatever he must to
protect his client and get to the truth. He ends up getting help from some
unexpected places.
R. Weir has
created the consummate “Everyman” with Jarvis Mann. Our hero eats bar food,
works out at the gym, and alternately kicks ass and gets his ass kicked. He has
an eye for the ladies and ladies tend to have eyes for him. Jarvis is a
professional. Once he is on the case, he endeavors to see it through to the
end. No matter where that may take him. Jarvis Mann cases usually start out
simply but inevitably involve twists and turns along the way to keep the reader
guessing.
